Classic inheritance! Diablo 4: Diablo

Recently, Blizzard released the new video "Developer Adventure" of "Diablo 4", showing the scene of Diablo 4 chief designer Zaven Haroutunian fighting in the dungeon of "Kor Dragon Barragan".

Haroutunian introduced that when creating Diablo 4, the development team wanted to make sure it looked like the real Diablo. And one of the ways to do this is to build a dungeon based on familiar locations in Diablo 1.

Haroutunian said: "One of the earliest dungeons we built was actually based on Diablo 1's crypt. We were like, 'Okay, how do we make sure it's like Diablo?' So we started playing Diablo 1, played in a crypt for a long time, then took a screenshot as a reference and created this dungeon with Diablo 4 engine."

Of course they also look for inspiration from the second and third generations. For example, the "Kor Dragon Barracks" dungeon is partly inspired by the Sescheron ruins of Dark 3. "We loved that ruin. So in Diablo 4, we wanted to do something like this again. Diablo 3 fans will surely remember that there are many deadly traps in this place, such as spike floors and bladed pendulums."

Diablo 4 has started early experience testing on March 18 and open beta testing on March 25. Players can experience the complete plot and game content of the prologue of "Dark 4" and Chapter 1, and can also freely explore the first area "Broken Peak Ridge", cross mountains and ridges, and kill the demons with all their heart. This game will be released on June 6 and will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, XboxOne and XSX|S.
