Era 1800 Review: Game details are excellent
"Era 1800" (English name "Anno 1800") is a series of games launched by Ubisoft. In addition, the epochs that have been launched include "Era 2205", "Era 2070", "Era 1701", "Era 1602", "Era 1503" and "Era 1404". The series focuses on strategy and simulation operations, and at the same time, there are a certain degree of combat elements in it. The label of each event line represents the current era background and the specific elements of players' play. The era background of "Era 1800" is the industrial revolution. This game supports multiplayer online play, and I have not tried it myself, but you know Ubisoft’s server.
At present, "Era 1800" has been removed from the Steam store. Players can only purchase it on the Ubisoft platform, and the price is RMB 248. After playing for more than ten hours, I made a preliminary evaluation and believed that the game is worth the money, but the premise is that you have to have a good configuration computer.
"Era 1800" is very good in the details of the game, so I won't say much nonsense, you will know the previous two pictures. The first one is a picture of the top view angle under normal play, while the second one is a picture of the game perspective that is enlarged to the maximum. These details can be magnified and viewed at any time, so the game is very unfriendly to mid- and low-end players. Why is it not friendly? Let me list a few models that have also finished this game friend to give examples. (Please note that the crash in the game is basically not a problem with the game itself. There has been basically no such situation in gtx1070, i78700 or above machines, and it is most likely that it is just because you can't bring it up)
The author's model GTX1080Ti+i9-7980XE has all settings adjusted to an extremely high FPS of 54. One of the other two friends' models rtx2080, the i7-8700k has a high FPS of 23-30. There is also a gtx1070 friend with a medium FPS of only about 10 frames. The game is very fun, but please be careful when you buy it.
Game content
The Era 1800 has no tutorial mode. The game's tutorial will appear at every key point in the game. Players can manually select more tutorial prompts or fewer tutorial prompts. The game has two modes, the plot mode and the free exploration mode. As a novice player, the author chose the plot mode and used it to introduce the game content to you.
The plot of the story is in the context of the Industrial Revolution, the protagonist's father was framed, sentenced to treason and committed suicide in prison. After we learned the news, we hurried back and wanted to get the truth about the matter. And you have nothing now and can only start from the trade war on one island...
The game's map is composed of islands, and the player first goes on aFarmhouses are built on the island to attract farmers (residents) to live in, and then to consume the population to build various buildings. In the early stage, an example: a house can accommodate 10 people. People's needs, such as food and clothes, need to build a trading market to provide a place for buying and selling. Building these buildings requires wood. The wood can be obtained by cleaning up the ruins of the island in the early stage. After that, players need to build a logging yard and transport the logs to the cutting factory to cut, and finally the wood building materials that can be used in the production site. People also need to wear clothes. Players need to build a place to grazle and raise sheep to obtain wool, and then they are paved and processed into reasonable clothes by tailoring. The early food comes from fishing in the fishing ground. There are many such requirements. Only when the needs of a class are successfully met will players be upgraded to a higher population. For example, after the farmer is upgraded, he will become a worker, and the capacity of a house has also changed from 10 to 20. Higher populations can be used to mine, build ships, and more.
In terms of game data: The game has a lot of materials to be exchanged. The data in the upper left corner are the players' funds, profit and loss, current population, and influence. In the middle of the game, newspapers will report on the player's island, while some negative news requires a certain amount of influence to cover it up. The left side of the game is the population required to enter the next era, and the right side is the city attraction index, with the attraction index divided into six positive and negative types, which correspond to the two. In the middle of the two are the existing main materials, such as the main materials in the farmer stage and the main materials bricks in the worker stage. Below the supplies is the number of existing idle population, on the left is the farmers' right is the workers, and the workers' IQs are also a higher level of population. The lower left corner of the game is displayed. Each island has one-to-one corresponding island resources below the name. The first row is wood, which can be planted in crops, and the second row is various types and quantities of minerals that can be excavated.
Some players may have questions, I want to plant a certain plant but the conditions of this island do not allow it? The game player can occupy multiple islands and just need to bring 20 wood and 20 steel with a boat to build a new trading station on other unmanned islands. But at this time, it is still impossible to transfer the population. For example, there are many coal mines in a small island, and the coal mines require workers to dig. At this time, they need to upgrade to the stage of engineers before they can transfer the population. Otherwise, we can only start from the farmer stage honestly.
Players may encounter occupied islands in the explored map. These islands represent the power of the corresponding masters. Players can sign agreements to trade different islands (which is also an indispensable source of economics) or declare war on the power.
Then I will share some experiences of my experience of spending more than ten hours of traveling, and consider that I have time to write a guide specifically:
First of all, the game's interface scrolling can only rely on the mouse and up and down left and right keys, rather than awsd to move, awsd is set to some other shortcut keys, which is completely unnecessary. Players who are not used to it can change it back in the operation options.
Population is the key to the game. The funds in the early stage all come from your population, so you can first explode the population, and then build a few more consumables to produce buildings to maintain stable demand, thereby obtaining more financial profits.
The missing things can be purchased from other forces. When you have multiple islands, you can send a ship to transport between the two islands.
Game Review
The game is generally quite attractive to "I'll sleep after playing for another round". After clicking it for 3 hours, it's inexplicably gone. The long game process brings waves of fun. The author always wanders between the lines of profit and loss. He has never read the strategy and has not yet figured out a set of money-making routines. The money he earns will be spent on building high-level buildings immediately. It can be seen that the game encourages players to cooperate more than war, and to obtain their own benefits through route trade between trading stations. The game provides the option of 2x and 3x acceleration. The game process will be very long without acceleration, but this length does not mean that you have nothing to do. Joining you has three medium and large islands. I believe that this is enough for you to work hard at ordinary speed. As a strategy experience game, you have all the elements and are done well.
Of course, the game also has some improvements. For example, after occupying multiple islands, there should be shortcuts between multiple islands (or maybe I didn't find them). The author can only click on the map to find the approximate location.
There is an Easter egg in the game, and the game's UP owner Mrs. Lu was made into a character in "Era 1800"
