Ohio incident in the United States (explosion at the Ohio factory in the United States)

A factory in Ohio, USA explodes! One person died and many were burned!

An explosion occurred in a metal factory in the United States! Many people were burned!

On February 20 local time, an explosion occurred at a metal factory in Bedford, Ohio, USA, injuring at least 14 people.

According to fire department officials, 13 of the injured have been taken to the hospital, and one more injured is being treated at the scene. The explosion caused thick smoke and metal melt to cause burns to many people and damage to surrounding buildings.

It is reported that the factory explosion occurred about 70 miles (112 kilometers) northwest of the East Palestine train derailment accident, which is also the second chemical leakage crisis this month!

This time it is at a manufacturer of brass and bronze alloys.

At around 2:15 p.m. on February 20 (this Monday), a big explosion occurred at a metal factory in Bedford, Ohio, and the accident has killed one person and injured 13 people. Witnesses said that mushroom clouds rose to the sky at the explosion site and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

At the same time, the "Ohio Train Derailment Case" has also been announced: The toxic substances produced by train derailment and explosions pollute at least 15,000 pounds of soil and 1.1 million gallons of water!

Black mushroom clouds appear in the sky!

Witnesses said that there were two explosions in the Schumann & Co. factory, a small explosion at around 2:15, and then another big explosion at around 2:30. The brick walls in the factory were blown away, and bricks hit cars and merchants parked around the factory, and the melted metal fell to the surrounding areas like "raindrops".

The air is filled with a pungent smell. It is reported that the metal manufacturing plant that exploded mainly produces and processes brass and bronze alloys. After the explosion, the black smoke soared into the sky and rose to a height of 1,000 meters. A nearby residents said that huge mushroom clouds can be seen 30 kilometers away, and they have a pungent smell.

The photos provided by local residents in the picture are clearly visible in black clouds dozens of kilometers away.

The fire department and ambulance personnel rushed to the scene for rescue as soon as possible.

Oakwood Village fire chief Brian DiRocco said that most of the fire had been extinguished at around 5 p.m. on Monday. Melted metal and debris were scattered on nearby buildings. Many people were burned. 14 people were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. One was dragged out of the rubble and one was in the ICU for treatment due to excessive injuries.

Many residents are beginning to have adverse symptoms!

The metal manufacturing plant, Schumann & Co., started operating in 1971, is a metal foundry where melted metals are processed. Although the factory facilities have always been "relatively safe", there are still certain risks in handling metal products.

Like the previous train derailment incident, in the short term, the official did not make any public statement about the cause of the explosion and whether it would cause local environmental pollution. But the pollution of heavy metal combustion on the environment and the human body seems to be obvious.

Any one of the heavy metals can cause headaches, dizziness, insomnia, forgetfulness, nerve disorders, joint pain, stones, cancer (such as liver cancer, gastric cancer, intestinal cancer, bladder cancer, breast cancer), etc.;

After the accident, Schumann & Co. issued a statement, "Today, an unexplained explosion occurred in our factory in Schumann & Co., Ohio. Employee injuries were a major loss for our company. Our focus now is to help our employees get out of danger and give full support.""

This is the second major safety accident in Ohio recently. On the 3rd of this month, a carriage derailment occurred while a freight train carrying dangerous goods passed through East Palestine, Ohio. Emergency personnel then conducted the so-called "controlled release" of the tanker carrying vinyl chloride, producing a large amount of black smoke that filled the sky, arousing doubts and concerns among local residents.

In addition, after the leak of poison gas in Ohio, a large number of East Palestine residents have been found.Claimed that the lips discolored and the face was erythema and no one really cared about us.

A resident said: That night, my lips began to change color, some dots appeared on my mouth, and bright red patches appeared on my face. If the air is so clean and the water quality is not a problem, why do everyone have symptoms?

Another residents said: Why do my eyes always have burning, my headaches are endless, my chest is painful, and my throat is also painful, I cough constantly...

U.S. experts in the field of ecology and chemistry said that the recent toxic chemical leakage incident in Ohio will cause long-term harm to the health and ecological environment of local residents.

Evaeros Valianatos, an ecological strategy expert who once worked for the US Environmental Protection Agency, said that this incident will cause long-term damage to the local environment and may even lead to "chronic ecological death."

He added that leaked chemicals include vinyl chloride, butyl acrylate, ethylhexyl acrylate, etc. "These substances have and will continue to be released into the air, surface soil and surface water."

Valianatos asked: "Who will fund their (inhabitants of affected communities) to be protected from toxic substances? Who will pay for their health care and treatment? So what about nature? All insects, frogs, bees, birds and fish (in affected areas) will die immediately or survive a degraded ecosystem full of toxic pollutants.Who will clean up the waters and habitats where they live?"
