A few days ago, "Dark Souls" MOD developer Meowmaritus tweeted, accusing "Kuser Faith: Exiled" developers of using their MOD tool "Dark Souls Animation Studio" to export the animation of "Ailden Fargo" and plagiarized the animation of "Ailden Fargo". Meowmaritus said he would never tolerate people using his "Dark Souls Animation Studio" MOD tool to help export animations for inclusion in commercial products or for sale in the Epic Mall.
Because the evidence is conclusive, players want to see how the developers of "Kuser Faith: The Exiled" respond to this. The developers of "Kuser Faith: The Exiled" then issued a statement on their Discord server, saying that the animation material was not "stolen" but was purchased from an Unreal Engine Mall package that is still available.
Response as follows:
1. We have been using Epic store animations very transparently because they are good and fit our theme. (The rest are all done by ourselves, we just need more diversity. My career is not an animator, and I have to learn and use this game now. There is a link below, you can also buy it yourself and try to make a sausage faith yourself.)
2.All the FromSoftware games you like, there are many arts outsourcing. If you look at it, you will find that they also buy hundreds of art materials from other companies and use them, which are not their own. If you think it was Miyazaki Hidetaka who did it all by himself, or FS's 200-300 employees made it all, then I'm sorry to break the fantasy. They have thousands of contract artists from all over the world who buy from them. So remember when you compare our qualities with "Eldon Far Ring", maybe don't forget that we only have three developers.
3. The only other thing I use from the Epic store is to add ordinary VFX special effects to the game. If I do it myself, it is a waste of time because what I do is similar in visual effects. These things are very typified (such as some stones) and do not require any art style at all. The world of "Kuser Faith: The Exiled" is purely hand-made, with only about 10% of the art being outsourced. However, in comparison, other 3A companies outsource 70% of the art because they have a budget, we don't have any of our ideas, and we have to make them ourselves. The same goes for our trailers, which are actually made by only two people – my brother and myself. All 3A companies also outsource publicity work to other companies, so please remember this.
One more thing:
Rotoscoping is an animation technology in which you track other movements (animation, video, etc.). likeIf the time of an animation overlaps on two completely different 3D character structures, then this is not something you can easily copy, and it is not worth it.
If you find similar animations on completely different 3D structures and skeletons of animated characters, then it is likely to involve Rotoscoping as a tracking method. You can't just track a brand logo and then take it as your own, but you can track a lot of things that become your own.
Many animations you like will also transfer well-known scenes from movies and media to produce similar effects. I post these just to me not need to repeat myself.
In summary, the "plagiarism" animations found in the "Kuser Faith: Exiled" game are not actually stolen, and they come from Unreal Engine materials, which are likely to have used the "Dark Souls Animation Studio" MOD tool "Dark Souls Animation Studio" of "Dark Souls" MOD developer Meowmaritus to export these animations and sold them to the Epic store. Meowmaritus then issued another statement stating that the developer of "Kuser Faith: The Exiled" did not actually steal the animation, but the "creators" of the Epic store's material stole the animation.
Interestingly, Epic Store has now deleted these animation materials, but has not banned the "creators" who sell them.
