How effective is the frame rate increase of Assassin's Creed Revolution (Assassin's Creed Revolution host stable 60 frames)

Assassin's Creed Revolution is a work released in 2014. The work intuitively showed the true next-generation performance in terms of pictures and large-scale NPCs, and highly restored Paris during the French Revolution, and is still shocking today. But at the same time, because of its overly biased technology, its frame rate performance in this generation of hosts is extremely poor, and there are many funny bugs, which makes it a mixed reputation.

Ubisoft later launched bug fix patches, and changed the original setting of the host version that did not lock frames to lock 30 frames. In the sequel to "Assassin's Creed", the official has even stripped away many pioneering technological breakthroughs in "The Revolution" for frame count.

The 60 frames discussed in this article are tested based on the first version of the game, that is, the CD version that has not been upgraded. Since the Xbox Series S does not have an optical drive, it cannot be tested.

Assassin's Creed Revolution is a big deal of NPCs and other reasons, and because the CPUs of this generation of hosts are very weak, the frame count is basically in the early 20s or even below 20 frames. This result is quite tragic. Even the PC platform took many years to run smoothly with mainstream hardware, so this game often appeared in PC hardware tests in previous years.

The situation only improves when it comes to Xbox One X, which can enhance the performance of the game. Running an ordinary Xbox One game like Assassin's Creed Revolution, Xbox One X is in 3TF floating point performance mode. Although the GPU performance doubled, the frame rate has only increased to more than 30 to 50 frames, and the frame rate fluctuates frequently, which is still a big gap from the goal of stable 60 frames. After all, the CPU is still a weak Jaguar.

In the next generation, Xbox Series X finally automatically locked the frame rate of this game to 60 frames. The reason is naturally the huge CPU performance improvement brought by the Zen 2 architecture CPU. At the same time, the system has forced 16 times anisotropic filtering and other technologies to make the picture look better. In addition, after all, this is the automatic improvement of the machine, and the resolution is still 900P of that year.

Although this seems to be a matter of course, it can be regarded as making up for a long-term regret on the host side.

If Ubisoft launches an improvement patch for this work in the future, or a next-generation replica, it would be a blessing.
