However, the G170T is not without its shortcomings. Everyone always has some established ideas for such larger notebooks, such as the most classic one is that the speakers and cooling effect of large-sized notebooks will be better. But in fact, these preconceived concepts are all wrong. Small sizes and powerful speakers. At present, high-performance gaming laptops will have relatively annoying heat accumulation problems as long as they play games for a long time. What is specifically shown on the G170T is: Although the screen adopts a matte design, the speaker effect looks a bit "weak" compared to its huge size (this is also a common problem for domestic brand public model gaming laptops), and it is not a shock or enjoyment - in the end you have to choose to wear headphones.

In terms of heating, we used AIDA64 and FurMark to fully load the processor and graphics card. After running at room temperature of 26℃ for 1 hour, the processor and graphics card reached 93℃/89℃ respectively. There was also obvious heat accumulation on the right side of the keyboard position, reaching above 45℃, which is quite hot. This also fully demonstrates that large size has no absolute relationship with strong heat dissipation. For high-performance projects, it is very important to plan the usage time reasonably.

Two-stage bottom cover is easy to maintain, but no upgrade interface is reserved

The maintenance of the G170T is very convenient. The bottom cover seems to have three covers, but one of them is a battery, which needs to be removed before maintenance, and the other small cover is hidden under the hard disk. After the large cover is opened, the interior is basically clear. The processor and graphics card radiator can be easily removed. From the perspective of dust cleaning and maintenance, this machine is basically the most convenient one at present.The class is designed, and the internal workmanship is manufactured by a large OEM manufacturer, so it is still trustworthy.

However, because it had a very balanced hardware configuration when it was launched, there was no upgrade interface reserved within the G170T. Both memory slots and M.2 SATA bus interface SSD are equipped, which is actually good for users and is easier to use.

But this problem seems to be a common problem for this type of high-performance notebook, and it needs upstream manufacturers to properly solve it after generations of processor graphics cards have achieved low power consumption.

From the perspective of operating experience, the wide body of the G170T gives most basic operations a comfortable feeling close to that of a desktop computer. Not only is the screen larger and sufficient resolution, but the interface is abundant and not crowded. Coupled with the good input experience and mainstream and balanced hardware and software configuration, the Thor G170T is still a desktop alternative product, suitable for players who have long-term fixed laptop use, especially students.
