Among the many generals of the Continental Army, the person who was most dissatisfied with Washington was Deputy Commander-in-Chief Charles Lee. This is not because Charles Lee is the big boss in the Knights Templar as mentioned in the game Assassin's Creed, but that Charles Lee's military resume is much larger than that of Washington. Compared with Charles Lee, Washington is a country bumpkin.

Charles Lee was born in the UK. His father was a British general and his mother was the Baron's daughter. He was the second generation of the British upper class. As a standard configuration for the upper class in Britain at that time, his father General John purchased the rank of captain from the infantry regiment led by him when he was 14 years old. Although they were both born in 1732, 14-year-old Charles Lee had learned a variety of languages and could proficiently use French and Latin. At the same time, Washington was still tossing "cherry trees" in his own manor (the story is fictional), hunting in the countryside, which was impossible in French. At the age of 18, Charles Lee set foot on land in North America and attacked the Indian tribes many times in Pennsylvania and other places.
During his station in New York State, Charles Lee and the Mohawks had close contact. Of course, Charles Lee did not pinch Connor's neck, but had a "zero distance" "truth" (truth is always naked) contact with the tribe chief's daughter. During the Seven Years' War, Charles Lee served under Amherst (British Marshal) and performed well in the battle of Montreal. In 1761, Charles Lee was transferred from North America and followed John Burgoin to participate in the Iberian Peninsula War, helping the Portuguese fight against the Spanish Bourbon Royal Family (a branch of the French Bourbon Royal Family). John Burgot defeated the Spanish army in Portugal and became a national hero in the eyes of the British. Charles Lee, as his assistant, also rose and gained popularity in the UK.

After the end of the Seven Years War, the British Army carried out a major loss, with the number of people falling from 203,000 to 45,000. Charles Lee was not laid off due to his social status, but his salary was cut in half. In anger, he ran to Poland for reemployment and served as a counselor for the Polish king. In 1769, he came to Poland again and became a Polish major general, participating in the war between Poland and Russia in the joint attack on the Ottoman Empire. By the 1770s, the descendants of this nobleman became a fanatical universalist, and he came to the United States with huge wealth in 1773.
In terms of war experience, Charles Lee was much richer than Washington. He commanded the regular European army operations and also engaged in informal combat with the Indians. Before the War of Independence, Washington had no experience in commanding battle infantry operations, unlike Charles Lee who had talked and laughed with many British generals. The main factor in Washington's victory was that he had his own direct force, the Virginia Militia, and Charles Lee's foundation in North America was far less profound than Washington.
▲Charles Lee's ShawLike
In the early days of the North American War, Charles Lee once overshadowed Washington. Not only did he surpass Washington in military theory, he performed well in the battles of besieging Boston and defending Charles Dune. Charles Lee's death was actually a sign of being separated from the soldiers and still being a British gentleman in the mainland army, so that he became a prisoner of the British army in vain.
Continental Army soldiers stayed at night and built temporary sheds with any materials they could find, such as tarpaulins, sails, wood, etc., so the barracks of the Continental Army are often like vagabonds gathering areas. When Washington retreated, Charles Lee remained gentlemanly. He lived in the most grand house in the local area every night, far away from his homeless men. This behavior of death finally paid off. On December 13, 1776, he was "checked" by British cavalry while sleeping in a luxury hotel. Charles Lee did not have the skills in the game. He surrendered decisively when he saw that there were many enemies. He ended his career as deputy commander in this way.
