Assassin's Creed Odyssey recruits mercenaries (assassin's Creed Odyssey gameplay)

In Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, players will no longer be subject to creeds, so they will act more freely, but this does not mean that players can do whatever they want. The game's creative director Jonathan Dumont recently said in an interview that players will be rewarded after committing crimes and will be hunted by up to 50 mercenaries.

Similar to the wanted system of "GTA5", players will accumulate crime values if they commit crimes, and the infamy is divided into five levels. The bounty that increases as the level increases will attract more mercenaries to chase the player, and at most it will reach 50 people. Players can choose to confront each other head-on, or bribe them for their own use. Regardless of the method chosen, players can get any equipment owned by the mercenary, including special legendary items. In addition, recruited characters will become the player's crew, who can be summoned to participate in battles and can also provide special abilities to the ship, such as reducing the cooldown of weapons or increasing the ship's speed.

But killing alone is not a good way. Even if players kill all these 50 mercenaries, it will not completely solve the problem. There will be new people to fill the vacant spaces of the dead. But as long as the player no longer commits crime, the bounty will slowly decrease over time. Game Director Scott Phillips said that in order to create a tense moment, once the hunted players enter a certain place, the mercenaries will issue an alarm, and other mercenaries will also go to the player's area, including following the player on the ship.
