How to optimize the Assassin's Creed Revolution (Assassin's Creed Revolution configuration requirements)

How to optimize the Assassin's Creed Revolution (Assassin's Creed Revolution configuration requirements)

For most people, it depends on two points whether the game is fun or not. 1: gameplay, 2 pictures

Although the graphics of games such as "Minecraft" are very rough, the grand scenes and the fun of DIY are all popular among players all over the world.

Games with excellent graphics are also popular with players. Players enjoy different "scenery" while playing games, as if they are in the game themselves, but the side effect of excellent graphics is that the game requires a relatively high configuration.

But there are always one or two "alternative" companies. Although the game screen is exquisitely produced, even if it reaches or exceeds the officially recommended configuration, it cannot run the game smoothly with high frames.

For example, the following games

Assassin's Creed: The Great Revolution

Assassin's Creed: The Revolution is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft. It is the fifth work in the Assassin's Creed series and was released on November 11, 2014.

The game's background is set in Paris in 1789, during the French Revolution. The economic depression made people's lives miserable. Hunger, poverty and riots filled every corner of the city, but the nobles were still living freely.

But today we are not talking about the gameplay, but the configuration. Let’s take a look at the officially recommended game configuration:

Minimum configuration requirements:

System: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (supports only 64-bit)

Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.3 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 and other graphics cards with 2GB or more video memory

Memory: 6GB

Hard disk space: 50GB

Recommended configuration requirements:

System: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (supports only 64-bit)

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 290X and 3GB or more video memory

Memory: 8GB

Hard disk space: 50GB

At that time, I seemed to want to play "Assassin's Letter".Article: "The Revolution" already requires high-end configurations such as GTX780/8GB of memory, but many netizens still complain about Kakaka. We just happened to have a GTX780 and a GTX980 on our hands. Let's actually run it and see what's the reason.

In order to restore the environment at that time, we specially found previous generations of hardware for testing.

Testing Platform:

CPU:intel Core i7-5960X

Motherboard: ASUS X99

Memory: 32G DDR4-2666

Hard disk: Ocz Vertex 3 SSD 120GB

Test conditions: 1920x1080 P Anti-aliasing: Close

We can see that although we use the high-end configuration of i7-5960X and 32GB of memory, the average frame rate of GTX980 is still only 64 frames, barely passing the qualification. The official recommended GTX780 has an average of only 49 frames, and the highest frame rate is not enough to reach the 60 frames that pass the qualification. It can be seen that it is not that the players’ configuration is not good, but that the game is “problem”.

But there is more than just this game "has something wrong".

"Legend of Sword and Fairy Six"

"Legend of Sword and Fairy Six" is a stand-alone role-playing computer game produced by Softstar Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Daewoo Information. It was launched on July 8, 2015.

This work is the eighth stand-alone work in the "Legend of Sword and Fairy" series, and is also the 20th anniversary of Sword and Fairy. It tells the story of Yue Jinchao and Yue Qi accidentally uncovering the dusty secret when they are looking for something lost.

Old look, let's take a look at the recommended configuration:

We still use the configuration we tested just now in Assassin's Creed: The Revolution to see if it is a hardware problem or something "strange" problem.

Test conditions: 1920x1080 P Special effects: Medium image quality

We can see that, similarly, the GTX980 still cannot hold the highest frame rate of "Sword of Sword Six" is only 62 frames, the average frame rate is only a pitiful 35 frames, and the worse GTX780 has the highest frame rate of only 47 frames, but the lowest frame rate is as failed as the Big Brother, with only 36 frames. Some players even reacted that their TITAN graphics card cannot run certain game scenes smoothly, so some players called "Sword of Sword of Sword Six" "Titan Fall Six".

According to the above test, we can see that our test configuration can fully meet the recommended configurations of the two games, but why is this still happening?

A problem is involved here: game optimization

Game optimization can be regarded as the last step in the game, and it is alsoThe most important part is to display the best game screen while occupying the least hardware resources, while ensuring the smoothness and stability of the game.

Game manufacturers mainly optimize the following aspects:

1. Frame number

2. Fluency

3. Delay

4. Reading time

5. Memory/Video Memory Evaporation

6. Game size

But many manufacturers often focus on game content and game design, and don’t care about optimization, which creates a phenomenon. Game manufacturers have spent a lot of effort to make games with very fun and very well-shot pictures. There may be many players who may buy them in the early stage of the listing, but when the first batch of players bought them back, they found that the game was indeed well-shot, but they couldn’t play at all, but I couldn’t bring up my configuration. What should I do? Do you want me to change the configuration? Gamers are the gods of the game market. Without players, no matter how successful you make the game and how exquisite the picture is, it is still useless if the players cannot experience it. Therefore, the testers of game manufacturers should consider it more thoroughly and optimize the game so that players at all configuration levels can experience the game you produce. Only such a game can be called a qualified and successful game.
