1. Video opening
For centuries, the Templars have been searching for the legendary Apple of Eden. They believe that the Apple of Eden contains not only the seeds of human initial resistance, but also the key to free will itself. If they find the Apple and unlock the secrets, they will have the power to control the minds of all human beings.
Callum Lynch revisited the adventures of his ancestor Aguilar in Spain in 15th century with the help of genetic memory presented to him through Animus, and found that his ancestors actually belonged to a secret assassin group. Thanks to Chongli's memory, Callum gained incredible knowledge and abilities, and is determined to raise the wolf smoke of resistance against the Templars again now.
2. Movie plot
Andalucia in 1492 was during the Granada War, and Aguilar de Neha joined the Brotherhood of Assassins. He was ordered to protect Prince Ahmed from being hijacked by the Templars.
In 1986, when he was a teenager, Callum "Carl" Lynch found that his mother was killed by his father when he returned home. And his father, Joseph, was a modern assassin. Alan Rigin, CEO of the Templar Abstergo Foundation, led a team of armed personnel to arrest Joseph. At this time, Callum Lynch had fled from his already broken home as his father said.
In 2016, Callum was sentenced to death for murdering a pimp. The Abstergo Foundation intervened and forged Callum's death penalty and took Callum to their research facility in Madrid. Callum learned that the Templar RiderThe scholar is looking for Apple Eden, and wants to use the power of the apple to control human free will, thereby achieving the feat of eliminating violent behavior and even violent thoughts. Sophia, the chief scientist of Allen's daughter, told Callum that he is actually the last known person in the world to hold an apple - the descendant of Aguilar. She brought Callum into Animus, a machine that allowed him to re-examine (and let researchers observe) Aguilar's gene memory. In this way, Abstergo can learn about the whereabouts of the apple in Aguilar's hands.
In the 15th century Spain, Callum, who relied on his memory as Aguilar, rushed to rescue Ahmed with Aguilar's partner Maria. Ahmed has been kidnapped by Thomas de Torkmada, the highest master of the Templar, who wants to use Ahmed to threaten Ahmed's father, Sultan Mohammed XII, to hand over the apple. Aguilar and Maria intercepted the Templars and rescued Mohammed, but were defeated and captured by Torkmada's reinforcements, Oheda. Callum was quickly pulled out of Animus by Sophia.
Callum then encountered other descendants of assassins who were housed in the research facility. The vast majority of these assassin descendants were skeptical of Callum’s motivation. But Mousa, the leader of the 18th-century Haitian assassin, did not think so. Callum began to have hallucinations called the "bleeding effect", and the experiences of Aguilar and Joseph appeared before him. Afterwards, Callum and Sophia established a friendly relationship while they were alone; Sophia confessed that her mother also died at the hands of an assassin, and she empathized with Callum's hatred for the Assassin Brotherhood.
After returning to Animus, Aguilar and Maria are about to be stolen. But Aguilar successfully escaped from the execution ground and after a rooftop pursuit, he threw away the pursuers with the assassin's "leap of faith". Callum's thinking reacted violently to this experience, so Callum temporarily fell into a fainting state. After Callum woke up, he learned that his father was also in the research facility, so he confronted his father about his mother's death. Joseph told him that the bleeding effect could help Callum master the combat capabilities of his ancestors. What unexpectedly to Callum was that his mother was also an assassin, who voluntarily died at the hands of Joseph in order to avoid being forced into the painful memory of Animus's ancestors. Callum, who was incredible about his father's words, vowed to find the Apple and destroy the Assassin. Meanwhile, Allen is facing pressure from Ellen Kay, one of the Templar elders. Given the fact that the Templars have "victory... people no longer care about their personal freedom... willing to follow others", Ellen Kay intends to close the costly Animus project. Sophia also began to doubt her father's true intentions because of her excessive eagerness that she showed in front of her.
After meeting with my father again, Callum took the initiative to enter Animus,Participated in the ambush of Aguilar and Maria on the meeting between Mohammed and Torkmada. They successfully killed the Templar Guards and seized the apple, but Oheda grabbed Maria and tried to force Aguilar to hand over the apple. But Maria chose to die and stabbed herself to death with Oheda's blade. Aguilar then killed Oheda, took the apple, and used the leap of faith to escape the pursuit. The power released by this memory caused Animus to have severe malfunctions. Aguilar handed the apple to Christopher Columbus, who promised Aguilar that he would bring the apple into the grave until his death. At this time, Mousa and other modern assassins who were contained as prisoners set off a riot to escape the facility. Alan evacuated the facility and ordered the removal of the riot participants in the facility. Abstergo's guards killed Joseph and the prisoners who were contained in most facilities during the purge.
Callum stood in the Animus room and met with many projections of his ancestors as assassins, including Aguilar, Arno Dorian, Joseph and his mother. Sophia noticed that one of the assassins had a very similar image to her. Under the persuasion of his mother, Callum accepted the assassin's creed, fully mastered Aguilar's memory and ability, and cooperated with Moussa and two other surviving assassins to escape from the research facility.
Allen, who took the apple from the tomb of Columbus, and his followers held a ceremony at the Sanctuary of Templars in London to celebrate their great victory. In the sanctuary, Sophia, deeply disillusioned, meets Callum who comes to retrieve the apple. Although she is reluctant, she still lets Callum enter the ceremony venue. Callum mixed in the crowd, assassinated Alan Rigin who was showing the apple with a simple sleeve sword, and took the apple away. Sophia swore beside her deceased father that she must avenge Callum. The assassins left the sanctuary and made a vow to resolutely protect the apple again and prevent the apple from falling into the hands of the Templars.
