The ending of the first sneak sword in the Assassin's Creed Odyssey (Spoiler of the first sneak sword in the Assassin's Creed Odyssey)

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey recently released the second chapter of DLC's "The Inheritance of the First Sword", "The Descendants of the Shadow", which caused controversy among some players (spoilers below).

The story of "Descendants of Shadow" is like the DLC of the previous work "Origin", which is a continuation and supplement to the game's ontological story. IGN scored 7.0 for this DLC, believing it brought more new content and successfully unraveled a grand story.

However, in the ending of "Descendants of Shadows", no matter how much energy the player chooses to play the male or female protagonist, spends to guide his favorite characters, the protagonist will eventually give birth to a child with Darius' daughter or son and unlock an achievement called "Growth".

"Growth"

This is unhappy for some players. Their reason is that in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Ubisoft has always claimed that "players can freely shape characters and even sexual orientations", and the game characters can be heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual.

Choose Cassandra does not prevent you from flirting with girls

According to Reddit netizens' analysis, this may be the plot of Ubisoft laying the foundation for the "Assassin's Creed" series, emphasizing that the assassin's memory and talent may become blood transmission in the future. For some players, Ubisoft may have violated the initial promise of "freely shaping characters and even sexual orientations". Some players expressed confusion and anger below Ubisoft's official push, and believed that this was disrespect for the homosexual community.

"Why should a lesbian and a man have a child?"

Of course, some players disagree. Because in the story of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, there are dozens of male and female characters who can have a dewy relationship with the protagonist (and will not become a fixed partner), and the protagonist can indeed take both men and women, so the behavior in DLC is actually understandable. Moreover, from another perspective, the future of being able to freely choose a character does not conflict with the forced advancement at key nodes of the main plot - just like no matter how you choose, the protagonist will usher in the modern ending of the main line of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Today, Ubisoft released a note to foreign media via email. Ubisoft said: "In Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, we allow players to choose their direction as much as possible. Here we apologize to those players who are surprised by the story of "Descendants of Shadows." Ubisoft also explained why the plot is designed like this: "You will be involved in an important relationship that will affect the storyline of the character you play. In the remaining chapter of the DLC, we will eventually connect the character's (past) behavior."
