In the past year, a large number of remakes have been released, including: "Death Space: Remake" and "Rulong Restoration! "The Last Survivor Part 1" and so on, and although many of these remakes have been well received, Resident Evil 4: Remake has largely surpassed its peers.
According to Metacritic's summary data, even if it has not been officially released, the average media preview score of "Resident Evil 4: Remake" is as high as 93/100, with only two mid-rated reviews out of 97 comments, and no negative reviews, which not only makes "Resident Evil 4: Remake" the best-rated game of the year so far this year (not considering Nintendo's Metroid Prime: Remake), but also may make it the highest-rated remake of all time.
From the Metacritic website alone, the only remake game currently rated higher than Resident Evil 4: Remake is Nintendo's 2011 "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D", which has a rating of 94/100. Resident Evil 4: Remake goes beyond other well-reviewed remakes such as Demon Souls, Wonder and the Colossus, and even Capcom's own Resident Evil 2: Remake. Considering that there will be more comments released after "Resident Evil 4: Remake" is officially released, the game's Metacritic score may tie or surpass "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D".
Resident Evil 4: Remake will be released on March 24, and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
