"Unity may be the best Assassin’s Creed yet."
——VG247
In 2014, Ubisoft Montreal smiled and said to the players, "Come on, I'll show you three babies." As a result, the Three Baby Cry 4 was lukewarm. While inheriting the advantages of the previous work, it also carried forward the shortcomings of the previous work; the Second Baby Watch Dog stuns the world, and unexpectedly became a "shrinkable dog" with only one Q key on the phone; and the Big Baby, which Ubisoft used to welcome the next era, brought a catastrophic blow to Ubisoft in the early stages of its release due to inconsistent with the promotional content, a huge number of bugs and the scum optimization of "squeezing player host performance". In the next two years, AC, a ten-year-old IP, paid off debts for the ACU: waves of apology, the free plot DLC "Assassin's Creed: Unity DLC Tombs", as well as the "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China" that compensates season ticket players, the "Assassin's Creed: The Heroes" that shrank and the movie "Assassin's Creed" that diverted the attention of the same name, all of which told the tragedy of the time. To this day, when people talk about ACU, their first reaction is still the strange bugs and bad optimizations, even after Ubisoft remediation and updates.
Many players always feel that something is missing after passing the ACU. Perhaps it is the incomplete plot, or the experience of Yano is not exciting and passionate enough, so today, we won’t talk about what everyone knows.
At present, I have no intention of rehabilitating it. I only hope that this article will only talk about the plot, the story, and the advantages, so that we can cross nearly a thousand years to re-recognize an ACU that may still be incomplete.
BTW, ACU is my favorite AC game, no one.
Assassin's Creed: Unity
Just as each story has a background that begins with results, first, let us have a little understanding of the background and settings of this game.
Part 1: Holy Sword
Since it is the beginning of the whole story, let's call back the Animus timeline and freeze it on October 13, 1307. On this day, under the persuasion of Guillaume de Nogare, a cabinet member of the French King Philip IV and the Seal Minister, Guillaume de Nogare, who was secretly an assassin's mentor, the French King and Pope Clement V sent troops to eliminate the French Knights Templar in the name of "heretic". This is the famous "Black Friday"One of the calendars, on this day alone, 138 members of the Knights (data from Baidu Encyclopedia, 60 on the Wiki page) were arrested, including Jacques de Molay, the leader of the Knights.
Jacques de Molay, leader of the Knights
At the moment the temple was raided, de Mole calmly entrusted the Sword of Eden and the Book of the Father of Cognition to a temple consultant. Although on the way, the consultant was attacked by the French Assassin Master Thomas de Carneillon(1276 – 1323), with the help of the power of the Holy Sword, he completed his mission, hiding the Holy Sword and the Holy Sect in the tomb under the Temple Tower. Afterwards, the consultant was assassinated by Thomas who rushed over.
Swords of Eden
Swords of EdenSwords of Eden are sword-like artifacts created by pioneers, and these fragments of Eden seem to give holders powerful strength and leadership, often used in war and conquest. Many conquerors and heroes in human history have held the Holy Sword of Eden. The well-known Holy Sword users are Perseus, Attila, King Arthur, Sigmund, Genghis Khan, Joan of Arc, Takeda Shingen, and Oda Nobunaga. Users can obtain the following abilities: eliminate the illusion created by the Apple of Eden, move instantly, perform echo positioning similar to Hawkeye vision, and cast energy waves on enemies.
The Father of Cognition Codex Pater Intellectus
The Book of the Father of CognitionCodex Pater Intellectus is a book written by the Supreme Master of the Templar, Saint Jacques de Mole, which records knowledge about the First Civilization and his personal thoughts.
Stolen, an old French acquaintance
De Mole was sentenced to stolen in 1314, and the temple was opened to pieces. De Mole became the 23rd and last public chief of the great commander; in fact, De Mole had long sent his nine subordinates around the world to preserve the fire for the sect.
ACU opening, home Helix host interface
The above is the first plot we can play in the ACU game - De MoLai's tragedy. Based on the subsequent stories and information, we learned that De Mole was actually a saint, and the holy sword and the holy scriptures he compiled opened the door to the entire ACU story.
Holy Sword Returns
The Book of the Father of Cognition has been preserved in the tomb under the Temple Tower, while the Sword of Eden has been displaced. A more detailed record is that during the Hundred Years of War in Britain and France, the holy sword was held by Joan of Arc.
Who is heresy? Who is the true believer?
According to the novel "Assassin's Creed: Heresy", due to the pioneer bloodline, Joan of Arc and his cousin Gabriel Laxar have certain pioneer abilities, and Joan of Arc's performance is even stronger. At some point after 1429, Joan of Arc and Gabriel found the Sacred Sword of Eden under the guidance of the high concentration of the pioneer DNA. With the power of the Sacred Sword, Joan of Arc led the French army to break the siege of Orleans, protect the Crown Prince Charles successfully crowned in Reims, and achieved countless victories. After being crowned, Charles VII was determined to seek peace and no longer provided support to Joan of Arc, which led to her being captured by the Burgundians and being bought by the English for ten thousand pounds. The Templar intends to conduct a heresy judgment on her to corrupt her reputation, thus achieving the goal of undermining Charles VII. According to the Duke of Alonson, they had no intention of killing Joan of Arc, but just wanted to eliminate her threat. But the trial was interfered by Bishop Pierre Kochen and Father Jean Distiffe and sentenced Joan of Arc to the stake.
Another old acquaintance
But Yoland and her assassins decided to rescue Joan of Arc. Before Joan of Arc was sentenced, her pastor Martin Radforney urged her to drink a glass of medicine at the communion ceremony, and then she was secretly transferred to a safe place by Jean de Metz and other assassins. In order to avoid the matter being exposed, Joan of Arc's female disciple Fleur voluntarily pretended to be Joan of Arc and was tortured for her. She also wore the "Sacred Heart" held by Joan of Arc to disguise it more realistically. Under the secret operation of the assassin, the execution was carried out smoothly, and Joffrey Terraje was the executioner.
Joland asked Joan of Arc not to reveal to anyone that he was not dead, and then let her go and live a life that belongs to her rather than a saint. Twelve years later, Joan of Arc, who was no longer associated with Consus, reconnected with heartbreaking Gabriel Laxar and gave birth to at least one child.
At this point, the curtain of the story begins to open. Next, weGo to the North American colonies to see what circumstances happened in the 18th century.
Part 2: Colonial and French Assassin Parliament
As we know in junior high school history, the two revolutions in France and the United States can be said to have laid the foundation for the entire modern European society. As early as the American Revolution before the French Revolution, many volunteer Frenchmen devoted themselves to North American colonies and brought the revolutionary vitality back to France after the victory of the war. Franklin Roosevelt was also loved by the French people during his tenure as the US ambassador to France; even the Statue of Liberty in the United States was completed in Paris and donated from Paris to the freshman United States - this is why we see her on the streets of Paris in the "better age" of the Helix crack.
When turning to the game plot, the North American Brotherhood and the French Assassin Parliament are even more closely connected. Long before Achilles Davenport reached North America, a French assassin, John de Latour, was active in this colony. After passing the assassin's robe to Achilles and recognizing him as a mentor of the Assassin Brotherhood in the North American colonial colony, John covered Achilles' sacrifice in the British-French war;
In 1749, the famous Assassin's Navy flagship, Skyhawk, was built and delivered by the French Brotherhood;
In addition, Yano's mentor, French assassin master Pierre Birek, was a French colonial militia corporal during the Seven Years' War. After the war, Birek was discharged from the army in 1762 and traveled to France (he escaped the Temple Purgation in 1763). He then settled in France for a long time and had countless arrest records...
This outfit looks really good
Afterward, there is the familiar ACⅢ plot; and this plot can be traced back to earlier 1735:
In 1735, Edward Kenway, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, was assassinated at home. His son Haytham Kenway was adopted by the prospective brother-in-law who pretended to come to rescue and was actually the murderer behind the scenes. He joined the Knights Templar under the guidance of the latter.
In 1754, Haytham was ordered by Berch to go to the colony to find the remains of the First Civilization, and during this time he fell in love with the indigenous woman, Kanezio, who was knowing his true identity.Later, he cut off contact and had a son alone. In 1755, Haytham learned that his sister Jennifer Scott was sold into the Sultan Palace and became a concubine, so he deceived Birch and said that he had obtained a clue about the Middle East during his trip to North America and successfully convinced Birch not to go out. After rescuing his sister, Hatham learned that Birch was the real murderer behind the scenes. Angry Hatham raided Birch and scolded him for turning himself into a Templar with lies and deception. But after killing Birch, Haytham decided to continue as a Templar. Due to this, the relationship between siblings is in a stalemate.
Hatham, who returned to the colony, met the assassin son of the pirate grandfather's Temple father. The difference in their identities and the unsatisfactory desire to leave their family affection made Haytham start to think about whether the relationship between the Knights Templar and the Assassin Brotherhood is really incompatible. Compared to the rebellious and simple Connor, Haytham considered more. In the end, Haytham decided to try to cooperate. Part of these ideas were written into a diary by Haytham, and the other part was recorded in letters with his sister Jennifer.
Everyone knows the subsequent plot. The calm Hatham is quite clumsy in maintaining the father-son relationship. The sensitive Connor thinks that Hatham has been lying to him to use him. In the end, the two turned against each other. Hatham also died under Connor's sleeve arrow, leading the possibility of the assassin working with the temple for the first time.
PS: Pirate Grandpa Temple Dad, he is an assassin berserker, so whoever is not confused...
Part 3: ACU and its novel of the same name
The biggest disadvantage of ACU is that many things that should be clearly stated in the game are not mentioned at all. From the perspective of the novel Arno, he reads Elise's diary and tells many very important plots that are not mentioned in the game. The most important one is Elise's growth and mentality change.
Elis de Russell
Elise de La SerreÉlise De La Serre (1768 – July 28, 1794), a French nobleman, has been extroverted since childhood. His father was François de La Serre, the commander of the French Knights Templar, and his mother was Julie de La Serre, and he was also an outstanding consultant to her husband.
In the spring of 1774, Carol, the Great Commander of the Templars in England, came to Elise's house with his husband's family. As a conservative in the Templars, Mrs. Carol was holy. The Knights Templar exchanged views with Julie; in the autumn of 1775, Julie and Elise were assassinated while going out of the shoe store. Julie shot one person to death and forced the other to escape in the face of two people. The escaped murderer was for the former British assassin Bernard Radock, who was removed from the fraternity due to alcoholism and gambling, and attempted to return to the fraternity by completing the task of killing the wife of the leader of the French Temple Volume. After returning home, Julie and de Russell tried to suppress the matter to maintain the relationship between the French Temple and the Brotherhood of Assassin and the established route to the royal government.
Later that year, de Russell explained to Elise the existence and significance of the Knights Templar in advance, and expressed his attitude towards France - the people are unable to master true freedom and responsibility and need outstanding rulers to lead. Ellis officially started training.
Feast of Destiny
In 1776, Arno, who was only eight years old, went to Versailles with his father Charles Dorian to hold talks with François de Laser on the future of France. During this period, Arno met Elise, the daughter of François. Due to the assassination of Shay Komak, Yano was subsequently adopted by the de Russell family. De Russell originally planned to train Yano to become the Templar and contacted the Assassin Brotherhood in his special identity, but was unanimously refused to give up by Elise and Julie.
In early 1788, Mr. Wetherroll finally found out the situation about the mastermind Radock, the mastermind of the assassination that year, and came to the Wang Family Academy of St. Louis to visit and inform Elise that François Thomas Germain, who was expelled from the sect for his heretic thoughts, might be the mastermind behind the scenes of Radock. Elise then decided to go to London to investigate the matter. Due to the strict management of the school, Elise was unable to go to the UK without notifying her father, so she tried to use the "lover" of the headmaster Mrs. Levin as a handle to allow herself to travel smoothly. On the other hand, as the diary was confiscated, Mrs. Levin understood that Elise was destined to be different from other noble children and expressed her full understanding and support. At the same time, Elise also learned that Mrs. Levin’s so-called “lover” was actually her son.
Earlier the next month, Elise went to Port Calais to prepare for England, but in the tavern in Calais, Elise had a conflict with the sailors and was thrown into the carriage by the drunk sailors. At this time, an alcoholic appeared at the right time and used Elise's dagger to kill two sailors. Later, the smuggling captain named Byron Jackson said that he could send Elise and a farm girl named Helen to London (do not read American novels in this part!).
After arriving in London, Elise chose to work with the British Temple Family Carroll family to use their intelligenceThe network investigates the whereabouts of Assassin Raddock. In exchange, Elise needed to get some letters from Haytham for them. Later, Elise approached Jennifer, as the former granddaughter of the Kenway family, the Kenway house in Queen Anne Square. In the next few days, Ellis and Mr. Wetherroll worked together to obtain some inside information that the Carroll family hoped to get. Ellis and Jenny Scott learned about the cause of Edward and Haytham's death during a walk and chat. At the same time, Jenny was constantly testing Ellis's ideas about the relationship between the Temple Assassin.
After returning to Kenway's mansion, Jenny showed up and told Elise that in the past four days, Elise's identity had been turned upside down through her intelligence network. Because Elise's candidness and attitude towards the Assassin Temple made Jenny finally decide to hand over Haytham's letter to Elise, and hoped that she could pass on Haytham's concept of cooperation between the two sides. Meanwhile, Jennifer gave Elise the Temple Cross necklace that Haytham left for her.
Necklace in CG
Ellis returned to Carol's house, but found that the servants were fully armed and the situation was not good. After sending Helen back to France first, Elise and Mr. Thurol went to the hotel where Radock was. At this time, the Carroll family had killed Elise's fake identity and passed on the hatred, intending to kill with a knife, but Jenny discovered the truth and still believed Elise. Elise was making Raddock run away first and faced the Carroll's house with Mr. Wetherroll. During the confrontation, Mrs. Carroll threw the letter into the fireplace and burned it, and said that the war between the temple and the assassin was absolutely irreconcilable, and the existence of moderates must be avoided. Therefore, whether it was Heatham Kenway, the chief of the colonial sect, who established another sect, or Elise, who accepted his ideas, they were all heretics in the sect, and the two sides fought. During the battle, the daughter of the Carroll family was killed by Elise, and Mr. Wetherol was hit by a musket on one of his legs. The two struggled to escape the pursuit of the Carroll family. The burned letters were fake, and the real Haytham letters were still in Elise's hands.
The Carroll family set up this situation, on the one hand, as a conservative and powerful faction, hoped to resolve Haytham's heresy ideas once and for all, and at the same time stabilized his position in the British volume. On the other hand, he also hoped to fight for leadership within the Temple organization by eliminating the heirs of the French volume. The personal grudge between May Carroll and Elise was buried as early as ten years ago.
On April 9, Elise returned to St. Louis Wang's College. The next day, Mr. Wetherol's leg injury worsened and his limbs were amputated. Helen and Mr. Wetherol temporarily lived in the gardener's house at Wang Family College. In the next month, Elise read Haytham's letter again and wrote back to Jenny Scott, saying that she accepted Haytham's philosophy and would do her best to help the two sides reach peace. It was at this time that Elise truly began to believe and agree that there might be a third way between the assassin and the temple, and truly accepted the idea that Haytham and Connor did not continue.
That yearAt the end of the year, Mr. Wetherroll and Elise went to the contact point to learn about Radock's traces. In early 1789, Radock was prepared to lynch in gallows by a group of farmers for robbery, and Elise rescued him and took him away. In the subsequent torture, Radock was unable to explain the name of the person who hired him. Elise gave Radock six months to investigate and then left. In May of that year, Elise graduated from the Wang Family College of St. Louis, and Mr. Wetherroll stayed in the gardener's house and was cared for by Helen. After several years, Elise finally returned home.
A few days later, the third-level meeting was held. François de Laser, the father of Ellis, met with the Assassin leader Earl Mirapo, and conducted a preliminary exchange of cooperation intentions for France's future. At the same time, Ellis expressed his hope to complete the possibility of mutual cooperation between the two sides through Arno's assassin background. His Excellency De Laser expressed his agreement. Elise then held the temple sect's induction ceremony.
Then it comes to the game plot, where Elise secretly broke into Arno; then, Mr. de Lasser was assassinated, and Arno was framed and thrown into the Bastille as a witness; in early July, Elise discovered the crucial letter transferred by Riano, the Versailles manor, and blamed Arno on Arno. A few days later, Mr. Wetherroll came to enlighten Elise, telling her that the sender L could only be Mr. Cretien Lafrenier, and reminded Elise that she could win over a group of people loyal to the de Russell family within the Temple Order. At the same time, he comforted Elise, hoping that she would not act irritated to Yano; on the 8th, Jenny Scott replied to Elise, mentioning that Yano was an important part of fulfilling Haytham's last wish to bridge the differences between the two sides. At the same time, he also mentioned that in an internal publication she called the "Assassin's Bulletin", the arrested Yano was serving his sentence in the Bastille prison, but at the same time, a senior assassin, Pierre Birek, was also imprisoned here and discovered Yano.
The fall of the Bastille
On July 14, the French Revolution officially kicked off. The revolutionary crowd rushed to the Bastille, a bridgehead representing conservative forces. Worried about Arno's safety, Elise resolutely followed the crowd to the Bastille. The moment he rushed into the Bastille, Elis, who was shouting Arno's name, suddenly discovered that an old man jumped off the battlement on the battlement at a high place. After hesitating for a moment, the young man resolutely jumped off the high wall of the Bastille - in Elise's opinion, this was a symbol of Arno's participation in the assassin. On the 25th, Arno returned to the de Russell mansion, but was questioned and driven away by Elise, who still could not forgive Arno. After that, Yano, who had nowhere to go, went to the Assassin's Council according to the instructions left by Birek, and officially became a member of the Brotherhood.
At this point, the biggest prologue of the whole story has been told.
After the game's main plot ended, Radock found Yano and handed him the letter from Elise as agreed in exchange for his bargaining chips to return to the Brotherhood. Not long afterwards, Yano came to Jacques and Helen's cottage. Mr. Wetherroll handed Elise's sword and luggage to Yano. On the way back, Radock suddenly appeared. He regarded wealth as his life and was employed by the Carroll family at this time. Therefore, Mr. Wetherroll and Helen's family, as the protector, also became targets. Radock took Helen as a hostage. At the critical moment, Mr. Wetherroll showed his wonderful and superb skills, using Elise's dagger as a flying knife and directly killed Radock.
A few years later, Arno, who had become a master, presented a bouquet of roses before Elise's grave
Part 4: Modern
By the time of modern times, the whole story is coming to an end, but there are still two very important characters that must be mentioned. One is former Abstergo analyst Robert Fraser, and the other is new Abstergo historian Simon Heather. Yes, it's similar to me, but I'm a charlatan
Robert Fraser, an excellent Abstergo data analyst, was the first synchronizer to the memory of Yano Victor Dorian. The part we play in the game also mainly comes from its synchronization. Fraser became a part of Abstergo Entertainment on June 18, 2014, and his job was to experience major projects like Arno Dorian's memory. After each Animus session, he will record his experience report and submit it to the project manager and Fraser's human resources manager, Aidan St. Clair for evaluation. Unlike many other research analysts, Fraser draws extremely detailed "historical figure information table" before experiencing each memory block.
Due to the severe bleeding effect, Fraser fell into deep love for Elise on the one hand and could not extricate himself. On the other hand, Fraser had serious mental problems. He often believed that he appeared in Paris at different times, namely the three Helix cracks in the ACU - the Middle Ages, the Beautiful Times and the Nazi Occupy Period. Fraser was forced to rest when the bleeding effect broke out. On July 29, encouraged by Abstergo Entertainment Chief Doctor Victoria Biber, Fraser reapplyed for the project, claiming that he miraculously restored his mental state to health within a week of his time with Biber at the Medical Center.
But after his return, Fraser and Biber destroyed all the files about Arnold, deleted articles on the computer, and burned all hard copies in St. Clair's office, and they also sent the yet-unserialized memories to the assassin, but after Fraser was arrestedTerminated.
Abstergo found the fingerprint of Bishop in his home during his subsequent investigation of Fraser.
Simon Heatherwei, Abstergo's new historian, appeared in the novel "Assassin's Creed: Heresy", which is the novel corresponding to the plot of Joan of Arc we mentioned earlier. He was a descendant of Joan of Arc's cousin Gabriel Laxar, and he also experienced the memories of his ancestors and learned about that history. Through Gabriel's questioning of executioner Joffrey Terrager, Simon learned the whereabouts of the Sacred Heart - Joffrey Terrager discovered the magical Sacred Heart of Eden that could not be burned after execution. In the case of mistakenly thinking that it was Joan of Arc's heart, Joffrey threw it into the Seine out of fear.

Simon successfully found the Sacred Heart under the bleeding effect and the sensing of the Artifact of Eden. At the same time, Simon gained a deeper understanding of the ideals and goals of the Knights Templar during the synchronization of the memory of his ancestor Gabriel. When reporting to the Inner Temple, Simon questioned the Knights Templars since Rodriguez Bogia's attempt to use pioneer technology to control the direction of human evolution, believing that they violated the original intention of Jacques de Molei's ideals and expressed their dissatisfaction with the Templars headed by Alan Rigin. In the inner hall, Berg took the lead in supporting Simon, while some people believed that De Mole's route was too ideal and ineffective. And after Rikin's death, this view was gradually suppressed.
Simon had no feelings for his ancestor Gabriel, but as the synchronization progressed, he began to sympathize with Gabriel - because the latter fell into a fanatical love for Joan of Arc, while Joan of Arc was fighting everywhere with the Holy Sword of Eden; on the other hand, Simon admired Joan of Arc very much, but felt sorry for her standing on the wrong side.
With the Sacred Heart found by Simon, the Knights Templar successfully restored the Sword of Eden and saved it inside the Abstergo company.
Part 5: Conclusion
I have always believed that there were two huge changes in the AC series.
The first time was ACⅢ. From the beginning of the first generation, the villains in AC always appear as a bad person. The most typical one is Cizel Bogia in ACB, who is incest, murdering his father and greed and doing everything he wants. Among the three generations, Ubisoft gave up his usual practice of labeling characters, and all characters are no longer as single as in the previous works. Therefore, Haysham Kenway, who is elegant but delicate, and has a strong purpose, has become one of the rare popular Templar characters in the series.
The first time it was a saintKnight Templar logo
The complexity of this character makes all players like Cute, and after knowing that he is the Templar, he has capitalized WTFs in his mind.
The second time, it is ACU. Thanks to global lighting technology and real-world modeling, Ubisoft presents us with the most beautiful and immersive city ever in the game.
Look at this light
Look at this fog
Look at this church
Look at this vision
Look at this rainy day
When you turn off the HUD (Phone holds CTRL by default to turn off the HUD at any time, and the handle is long press the right rocker), walk in Paris, you will be impressed by the beauty and atmosphere of the city. Ubisoft successfully portrayed a turbulent Paris: military police, thugs and civilian armed forces were patrolling back and forth, and citizens were marching on the streets, and they often saw people holding spears piercing their heads; Ubisoft also successfully portrayed a literary and orderly Paris: there were talking and laughing in the cafe, and those who watched the show were applauding from time to time. There were many troubles outside, but there were two or two students in the Sorbonne College wandering around, and the violin could be heard from time to time. The Paris Military Academy is in order, and as long as you dare to go down, a group of people chase you in an instant. Ubisoft perfectly combines the violent and bloody revolutionary and bloody revolution with the romantic literature of Paris. Unfortunately, we may never see such a city again.
It is not difficult to find that in the series, except for ACU's works, almost every generation of works have a distinct emotional tone.
What is the first generation? It is the atonement of an assassin master, atonement for his arrogance and underestimation of the enemy. But in this process of atonement, he gradually learned to be cautious, respect his opponents, and think...
What is the second generation? It is the growth and transformation of the children of a playboy and aristocrats. The efforts of several generations turned into ashes overnight. The father and brothers had no revenge, and the mother and sister had nowhere to settle down...
Where is the Brotherhood? It is maturity and leadership. When Monterigioni was captured by the army, our Ezio embarked on the road of revenge again. But this time he was not like the big boy who almost cried in front of Uberto's goal. This time, with his clear target, he rushed to Rome, the center of the Templars;
Revelation is even more clear, pilgrimage and search. In order to understand the puzzle that has been entangled in my heart for a long time, the elderly Ezio embarked on the road to finding the Altaïr Library...
The three generations are the choice of family affection, the black flag is the knowledge of doubt, the betrayal and perseverance, the hero is the simplicity of the countryside, and the serious collision of the industrial revolution... Even the chronicle series has a clear theme, China is revenge, India is a leisurely journey, Russia is a betrayal and betrayed... Only ACU is incompatible with other works, it seems that ACU does not leave any intuitive impression, except for the picture quality and BUG.
If I had to put one or two adjectives on the ACU, I think it was ordinary and melancholy - although these two words had nothing to do with Assassin's Creed in people's impression, these two words lingered in the atmosphere from beginning to end.
Abandoning the identity lineage, Yano is just an ordinary person with a fireworks. He has no big ambitions and just wants to follow Elise - the affectionate confession in the cafe. "I haven't changed, Elise," "I am still the little boy who used to talk to the chef and ask you to steal ham... I am still the one who helped you climb over the wall and sneak into the orchard guarded by dogs..." This is the best evidence; he also runs his own cafe and occasionally sits down to watch stage plays; almost everyone on the streets of Paris knows him, and when you run around, there are always passers-by to say hello to you. When you are in conflict, there are always passers-by to help you; in addition to being close to Napoleon, he always stands on the side of the people, whether it is rescuing Danton or secretly protecting women's parade... His lightness and complacent seem to be incompatible with this great revolution that has been recorded in history.
He was also melancholy. After discovering his father Charle Dorian's identity as an assassin, his mother abandoned them and fled, leaving her alone to raise him, and he was particularly attached to her father. When his father died in front of the 8-year-old Arno in 1776, the blow can be imagined; later, Arno was adopted by the de Russell family, and his identity as a child always makes people feel inferior, and Arno is no exception, especially when facing the eccentric and precocious Elise, Arno was basically firmly controlled by Arno. Fortunately, Arno is handsome. According to Elise, "Women in Versailles praise him. Whenever he passes, the young girl will blush and smile. He just reversals the bad impression of his foster status with his handsome appearance. I used to love that reassuring sense of superiority - 'He is mine.'". Then de Russell was assassinated. Arno, who wanted to help, was thrown into the Bastille as a suspect, and Elise was also worried about the letter that was not delivered. It seems natural for Yano to join the Assassin, but in fact he has no choice.
Even in the Assassin's Council, the man in black killed by Yano was his own - this only means that he could never forgive himself...
This is the original fatalistic atmosphere of the Assassin's Creed series.
So far, this story, which starts with "Black Friday" in 1307, takes the Hundred Years' War as the foreshadowing, starts with the awakening of the Saint François Thomas Germain, takes the investigation of the murderer of his adoptive father as the bright line, takes the stormy love between Arno and Elise's revolution as the dark line, and Simon's finding the Sacred Heart as the conclusion, is finally finished.
Who can't infer what the ACU will become if given enough time. How did Yano return to the Brotherhood? Why are you and Napoleon in St. Tenny?Falling out? Was Napoleon's expedition to Egypt to recover the artifact of Eden sent away by Arno? What kind of relationship did Napoleon's final Waterloo have with Arno? It is precisely for these reasons that we often say that ACU is the phantom pain of the Assassin's Creed series - perhaps it is also because of the phantom pain that we occasionally look forward to the impossible complete "Assassin's Creed: Unity" in the jokes and "game features".
Just like this melancholy look
As the end of this Valhalla, Ubisoft seems to want to bring the Assassin's Creed series back to the era when flying over the eaves and walls in famous cities and being free and comfortable in history. Is it a test of sales or is it really intentional? No way to know. But I do think of those French years again.
