Ubisoft Senior Vice President Deborah Papiernik said in an interview with Variety magazine that Ubisoft has reached a partnership with EDA Film Company to produce a VR game with the same name as the "Burning Notre Dame" movie, which will be launched simultaneously with the movie on March 16 this year.

The Burning Notre Dame Cathedral, directed by famous French director Jean-Jacques Arnold, the film focuses on 24 hours of the fire, tells how firefighters control the fire and prevent the entire ancient building from being burned to ashes.

The VR game of the same name produced by Ubisoft will be mainly played by puzzle solving. Players will play the role of firefighters and personally participate in the Notre Dame firefighting operation. While trying to find ways to put out the fire, they should also try to find cultural relics. The game also comes with online elements that can fight side by side with teammates.

Ubisoft stated that since it only started discussing related content with the film producers in early 2021, the release date of the film is set in March 2022, and the production time is very tight, and the scale of the game cannot be made particularly large. Finally, it decided to control the duration of a single game to 1 hour.

In addition to being launched simultaneously with the movie on March 16 this year, the official has not announced the platform that the game will be launched on, as well as the price and other information.

It is worth mentioning that in fact, the director of the film "The Burning Notre Dame" Jean-Jacques Arnold took the initiative to contact Ubisoft to discuss the production related content. Deborah Papiernik said: "He knows we have a special relationship with Notre Dame. I think that's why he came to us."

In Assassin's Creed Revolution, Ubisoft constructs a detailed model of Notre Dame. After the Notre Dame fire, Ubisoft announced that the Assassin's Creed Revolution was exempted for one week and donated €500,000 to help the reconstruction of Notre Dame. Later, Ubisoft launched the VR travel simulator "Notre Dame: Journey to Time" for free. These may be factors that impress the film producers.
